Hilary Bryan
Director and Development Consultant
Hilary facilitates successful leadership, government, communications, emotional intelligence and business agility programmes. She’s a dichotomy of thoughtful reflection and practical action. She’s been a senior manager in central and local government, a communications consultant and a tertiary education lecturer.
Hilary meshes together ideas from a wide variety of sources and distils them down to meaningful reality. She’s presently continuing her research into agile and adaptive leadership.
Hilary has two tertiary teaching qualifications and recently completed her thesis on Emotionally Intelligent Leadership to become a Fellow of Speech NZ.
She has two degrees in Political Behaviour and is an avid follower of the NZ political and public sector scene. She leads The Training Practice’s government and local government work.
Paula Herring
Development Consultant
Paula is an experienced learning designer and facilitator. All her programmes bring together current business practices and up-to-date leadership and communications ideas.
Paula has worked in a busy DHB, the NZ Fire Service (FENZ) and MSD. She's also developed specialist resources for the Leadership Development Centre. As such, she's facilitated programmes for people at different levels in organisations, including senior leaders.
She has a Bachelor Communication and specialised in linguistics and communication management. In addition, she has a Certificate in Adult Teaching.
Paula's accredited to assess teams and individuals using the Myers Briggs Type Indicator; Berens CORE Approach; and the full suite of TMS profiling tools.
She has a particular interest and expertise in organisational culture, diversity and inclusion. Paula's committed to active and engaging learning for maximum impact.
Andrea Ibell
Business Manager
Andrea has her finger on the pulse of all aspects of The Training Practice.
From finance to marketing and social media, Andrea takes care of business. And that makes it easy for Hilary and Paula to focus on what’s important.
Andrea also manages our part-time office administrators who provide essential support to our busy team.
