Resilience
How do you build resilience, particularly when you're experiencing change and times are tough? What are the components of a resilience strategy? What can you do alone? What do you need to do in collaboration with others?
The psychologists, the mental health professionals and the academic researchers have all looked again at resilience recently. Some of their findings are similar, while some differ. The main issue is to find out what will work for you and your organisation.
At the end you will:
- build your personal resilience
- take actions to develop hardiness: commitment, control and challenge
- develop strengths around your Inner Self Mechanism, Relationship Mechanism and your Method Mechanism
- understand why learning from past stressful situations teaches important life lessons
- manage your thinking processes to build resilience: avoid thinking traps; challenge beliefs; put things in perspective; and calm and focus.
Why is this important?
Some people think resilience is remaining stoic and staunch in the face of adversity. The approaches you learn on this course are more in depth and give you real-life strategies to build resilience.
