DiSC Profiles
DiSC Profiles assess your work style, behaviour patterns and communication style. They're really useful for self-assessment and team development. The 28 DiSC questions, which are the heart of this assessment, don't give you a pass or fail; it's not a test. Instead, it gives you insight into how you operate and how to improve your effectiveness.
Behaviour is expressed across four dimensions as follow.
Dominance
A person scoring high in the D dimension is motivated by crisis, challenges and problem solving. They prefer a fast pace, challenges and the authority to make decisions for themselves and others to achieve specific goals. They can be demanding and direct in their communication and want control over their environment.
Influence
A high i score indicates someone with high levels of optimism and enthusiasm. They tend to be spontaneous, agreeable, and accepting of others. They are verbally expressive and desire freedom from a lot of rules and regulations. People high in i are social creatures who will talk to anyone and build great relationships.
Steadiness
People scoring high in S tend to be loyal, patient and dependable. They're superb listeners and calming agents in stressful situations, because they love harmonious relationships and avoid conflict. They prefer safety, security and predictability with no sudden changes. They're great team players.
Conscientiousness
People who score a high C will like clearly defined expectations within a structured system to accomplish tasks. They like producing high-quality results and are accurate. They'll tend to ask a lot of "why" questions and often stick to facts and logical arguments.
Why is this important?
DiSC Profiles create self-awareness. Once you understand yourself better, you can adapt your style to others, build more effective relationships and manage people better. They're also great for increasing team awareness. Team members get to know each others' behaviour patterns and communication styles. That means they can work together far better.
